Iranian documentary ‘Woodgirls – A Duet for a Dream’ has won a nomination at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) in Australia.

‘Woodgirls – A Duet for a Dream’, directed by Azadeh Bizargiti, was nominated for Best Documentary Film at the 15th APSA.

The film is about two Iranian women, Leila Avakh and Sediqeh Momennia, who have chosen carpentry as a profession. They made the decision with love and passion.

The two women face many obstacles working in the male-dominated field, but they are determined to prove that it is not impossible to achieve your dreams.

The film previously took part in various international festivals and managed to grab several awards.

The Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) is “the region’s highest accolade in film, where cinematic excellence shines”, the event’s website reads.

APSA “honors filmmaking that best reflects its cultural origins and the diversity of the Asia Pacific”.

The winners of the 15th Asia Pacific Screen Awards will be announced at the awards ceremony on November 11.
